Regine Velasquez and Moira de la Torre heat argument over “Idol Philippines” contestant

Published

on

Whether in real-life or work, confrontations and arguments among fellows are inevitable.

Just like what happened on May 4’s episode of “Idol Philippines”, a singing competition show of ABS-CBN.

Judges Regine Velasquez and Moira dela Torre, seemed to have had heated arguments over one of the contestants of the said show who, according to Regine, sounded like Moira and another singer Yeng Constantino.

After the contestant’s performance, Regine commented that she liked the contender’s singing prowess.

However, she wanted to hear a different sound.

“I liked the song, I liked how you performed it, I like your voice. My problem is, ‘you guys have the same sound’ to me I know it’s current but you sound the same and the thing is, I know you’re making the sound, it’s not something you’re born with. You make the sound. It’s the tone that you make,” Regine said.

Moira, however, was impressed by the contestant’s singing style and came to the latter’s defense.

She said: “I understand, ‘yung pinanggagalingan ni Mama Reg, (Regine) na ‘yung generation natin, ang daming ganito ang sound,” Moira said.
Moira further argued that, “But also Mama Reg, gusto kong i-defend si Leann (Idol aspirant) because for me ang dami ko na din nasulat na kanta, ‘yung mga kanta ko pare-pareho ang tunog until I brought it to the studio and i-arrange na.”

Before Moira continues to speak, Regine butted in saying, “No, no I’m not talking about the genre, it’s the voice.”

Because of this, Moira attempted to lift her chair and said, “Uwi na po ako.”

The said scene became trending in social media with different reactions from netizens.

Good thing though, both Moira and Regine tweeted a few hours after showing that nothing is personal regarding their confrontation.

That it was all for work.

Regine tweeted, “It’s the same sound!!!!! @moirarachelle4 @idolphilippines.”

Moira also replied, “Tama na poooo! Hahahahaha! Llove u mama Regggg!”

Indeed, it seems all is well between the two judges.
